This is a montage of books by Charles Darwin or books examining his theories. Examples that can be identified in the photo include "On the Origin of Species by means of natural selection"; "The Descent of Man: and selection in relation to sex"; "The Variation of Animals and Plants Under Domestication"; and "Journal of the Proceedings of the Linnean Society". This collection of books was donated to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science by Dr. Richard Stucky. Included in the collection is an extract from an unpublished work on species by Charles Darwin and the abstract of a letter from C. Darwin, Esq. to professor Asa gray, Boston, US, dated 5 September 1857. These books can be found in the Rare Book Collection in the Library at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
