Articulated skeleton of an American Mastodon on display at the Denver Museum of Natural History in the old Dinosaur Hall. Note the articulated skeleton of a Long Jawed Mastodon (Trilophodon phippsi) behind the American Mastodon. In the background are dioramas with paintings above reflecting what the area might of looked like for each specimen. This area is now used for storage and is referred to as the "Big Bone Room". This mastodon is also referred to as the Garrett Mastodon after the town of discovery.
