Juan Elote wearing Fiesta costume. Born in 1845, the great-grandfather of Brenda Julian, the Dulce Museum director. Wearing a buckskin beaded shoulderette over his buckskin shirt and leggings, with the Pendelton blanket over his shoulder. The hair is braided with strips of fur woven into the braid. The tunic shirt is patterned after the Taos Pueblos with whom they associated before being assigned a reservation. Buckskin leggings were also adapted from the Pueblos.
