description:
|
Jicarilla Apache family with buckboard and team. Listed as Antonio Romero & wife Leason Garcia Monarco Velarde, 1878 (Lelia's parents), and Isabel Callado (Ralph's mother). Note lighter-weight shawls for warm weather. Pendelton blanket used in colder weather is used here to pad the wagon seat for long journeys. The canvas canopy over the wagon is for shade or protection from bad weather.
