Kodiak bear, also known as an Alaskan Brown Bear Group, (Penninsula Giant Bear), Ursus gyus in an early diorama. Diorama background represents an area near Pavlof Bay Alaskan Penninsula. The seated bear "frame" is shown in the taxidermy lab in photos #5666 and # 5667-test. There were 2 negatives in an envelope(one blocked one not blocked) [the not blocked negative is missing 10/16/2002]. The photo was taken by DMNH personnel during the course of their work documenting the Museum building and exhibits.
