Diceratherium cooki articulated skeleton, modeled side. The tiny pair-horned rhinoceros was named Diceratherium cooki in honor of James H. Cook the owner of the Agate Springs Fossil Quarries near Marsland Nebraska. DMNS (aka Colorado Museum of Natural History) was one of many museums which excavated at the site which is now a part of Agate Fossils Beds National Monument. James 's son Harold who became a paleontologist, was associated with many museums including DMNS where he was an Honorary Curator and Curator of the Department of Paleontology. The photo was taken by DMNH personnel during the course of their work documenting the Museum building and exhibits.
