White-fronted and Cackling Geese group (Branta hutchinsii) in original diorama depicting Alaska. This species is native to North America and it breeds in northern Canada and Alaska in a variety of tundra habitats. However, the nest is usually located in an elevated area near water. The photo was taken by DMNH personnel during the course of their work documenting the Museum building and exhibits.
