description:
|
A woman weaves a basket inside the tent while a man smoothes a frame for a drum. The basket in the foreground has a continuous design which always has a break in it to allow any evil spirits to escape. The basketmaker gathers willow reeds which are stripped into three parts. The coiled material in the box has been dyed. The top row on the basket is a different stitch which must be completed in one day. Children and visitors are not allowed to view the basketmaking process. La Jara area.
