description:
|
The dancers and runners are tied to the Annual Harvest Fiesta. Note the large tom-tom in the middle for the dance. Gertrude Van Roekel noted that the Harvest Fiesta was " carried with them from their nomadic life, even to bringing four sacred cornerstones to mark the four corners of the racetrack. These were carried across country, by hand, placed in their present location ceremoniously. They may never be moved, for no one living today remembers the accompanying ceremony."
