description:
|
This is a distant view of Woodhall Quintana's camp in the winter. Gertrude Van Roekel said "Plenty of wood is provided, grain sacks from the Pueblos provide food and also insulation along the walls of the cabins. Snow paths are opened to make an eating area for the horses as hay is spread for them daily. The wheels of the wagon are exchanged for sleighs and make travel more versatile and for the family, more confortable." The location of the photo is Sawmill Canyon.
