This is a copy of a Smithsonian Collection photo. According to Gertrude Van Roekel, Santiago Largo was born in 1880 before the reservation was assigned to the Apache. He has his braids adorned with yarn. His bead necklace, tie, and buckskin shirt adorned with beads and fringe are an Apache identification.
