Information provided by Gertrude Van Roekel: "These people are lined up at the Otero [South End of the reservation] Store for a Christmas service held especially for them. They were sheep herders who could not leave their flocks to go north to Dulce for regular services." The blankets were placed on the ground so that individuals could sit there.
