From left, an unidentified worker, Frank Howland, Philip Reinheimer, and Jesse Dade Figgins at the Trigonias quarry with, tents, ranch, and domestic cattle visible. The excavation site was quite significant and yielded remains of a variety of prehistoric rhinoceroses including at least three complete Trigonias skeletons as well as at least thirty-seven skulls, fifty-nine pairs of mandibles, eight pelvic girdles, eight trays of vertebrae, several complete sets of ribs, and numerous limb bones. Duplicate fossils were used in exchange with various institutions across the country including The Field Museum and Harvard University. Location: near Horsetail Creek.
