Trigonias skeleton in process of reconstruction for the Denver Museum of Natural Hisotry (now Denver Museum of Nature and Science) exhibit. The Trigonias fossils were found at Horsetail Creek Quarry site. The excavation site was quite significant, yielding the remains of a variety of prehistoric rhinoceroses including at least three complete Trigonias skeletons as well as at least thirty-seven skulls, fifty-nine pairs of mandibles, eight pelvic girdles, eight trays of vertebrae, several complete sets of ribs, and numerous limb bones. Duplicate fossils were used in exchange with various institutions across the country including The Field Museum and Harvard University
