description:
|
This kachina stands on a black 1.25" base. It has a green case mask and a beak mouth. There is a blossom and tuft of red hair for one ear and a tuft of feathers for the other ear. It wears a kilt, wedding sash, and red moccasins. The body paint is pink and white. Called Tasapkatsina in the Hopi Dictionary. Tasaf, the Navajo Kachina, is one of the Hopi's interpretations of their neighbors, the Navajos. This popular kachina may be selected for the Niman (Home Dance) and Powamu (Bean Dance), and also appears in the Buffalo Dance. Tasaf's stamping dance is interrupted at intervals by some intersting turns & calls.
