description:
|
A "cow lady". She should have cane in left hand. A black case mask with cow horns on top, red hair, cow ears or flower ears and cow-like snout. She wears a kilt, sash, shawl or cape and white moccasins. The body paint can be any color to resemble that of a cow. She carries a rattle and appears in ordinary kachina dances. She is said to be the Zuni kachin that first appeared at Oraibi in 1911, but she is known at First Mesa at the time Fewkes was there. Also known as Wakas Kachina Mana and called Wakasmana in the Hopi Dictionary.
