Kachina doll carved from wood. It has a case mask that is half orange and half blue surmounted by an elaborate tableta painted with phallic and cloud symbols. It has a kilt, sash, woman's belt and red moccasins. The body is painted with black corn smutl. It carries rattle. Hemis Kachina is usually selected as the principal character in the Niman Kachina Dance and so is sometimes called the Niman Kachina.
