description:
|
A Tohono O'odham (Papago) woman holding up a finished clay pot. Women would make clay pots for trade and to store water, and grain. After graduating from Columbia University in Anthropology, Ruth Underhill studied a group of Native Americans in southern Arizona. Through her scientific research she was able to preserve the original language, poetry and songs of the Tohono O'odham (Papago) people.
