A Tohono O'odham (Papago) man and woman rest under an Arbor or shed for shade. Arbors were made for temorary shelter and storage. After graduating from Columbia University in Anthropology, Ruth Underhill studied a group of Native Americans in southern Arizona. Through her scientific research she was able to preserve the original language, poetry and songs of the Tohono O'odham (Papago) people
