description:
|
The Grandmother used the tipi for her home, where she was more comfortable, rather than the log house used by the rest of the family. The shoulderette was only added for the picture, as they were not an everyday item. Note the plain, utilitarian moccasins. Her dress is calico with the typical wide leather belt. More afflulent women wore silver-studded belts.
