Polar bear group in it's original mounting. The 1923 Annual Report describes this as "Polar Bear and freshly killed Ribbon Seal. Ice field off coast of northwest Alaska". The photo was taken by Albert C Rogers who was the Museum's Preparator. The animals were collected durung an expedition led by Alfred M. Bailey. Seven large mammal groups were collected on this trip and stored in ice cellars for keeping.
