description:
|
Apache women, children, and some men are seated in front of the Otero Store, a small extension store in the southern part of the reservation, waiting for an outside Christmas service to begin at the Jicarilla Agency. The women are wrapped in Pendleton blankets. The services were conducted by members from the Mission in Dulce. They moved their herds to the southern part of the reservation to take advantage of the available grazing. Because they were isolated they attended any activity offered for the contact with others.
