description:

According to Gertrude Van Roekel: Tom (left born '11), his hair has been cut, probably at school. Pacheco (right born '08) has leather gauntlets with star decoration, probably acquired during his employment by the government. Both have high-top hats, usual attire. Both horses have a rope bridle and are ridden bareback. The white horse appears to have a decorated pouch on a thong around its neck. Horses were often decorated for fiestas.
