description:

The location is on the Jicarilla Apache Mission compound. 'Ration Day' was first Saturday of the month when government-issued supplies were distributed. The Tribal Council meetings were held at that time. The families came in from the rural areas the day before and spent the night at the Mission Lodge, a place for them to stretch their bed rolls, cook some food and swap stories or discussed the agenda for the Council the following day.
