Information provided by Gertrude Van Roekel: "The tent replaced the tipi as it could be purchased commercially and did not require the sewing of the tipi and acquiring tipi poles. The mother wears the modified Indian dress with the fastened cuff on holding it to the sleeve, the collar and without the traditional yoke. The comfortable seat is a goat pelt, which is used as part of the bed at night."
