According to Gertrude Van Roekel the sheep shearing was done by professionals by hand. In this picture, Ed Ladd Vicenti (left) is preparing to pack the wool into sacks for marketing. His brother Christian (center) is in the process of shearing a sheep by hand. Mexican Traveling Shearer Antonio Martinez is holding the lamb until the mother sheep can be released.
