description:
|
This type of oven was not used often because the people were nomadic. It was structured of green branches and then covered with adobe. The hole in the back served as a chimney. They baked directly on the adobe floor after a fire was made inside and the ashes removed when hot. The door and chimney was closed. The bread was baked in retained heat. A long-handled tool was used for placing and removing bread.
