Information provided by Gertrude Van Roekel: "These summer homes were rather makeshift because they were moved as the grazing grounds for the sheep became over grazed. The poles used in these tipis were scrap timbers. Tipis in permanent locations or for fiestas required long, slender, straight poles, and these were kept from season to season by the family."
