Giant sloth (Paramylodon harlani) and sabertooth cat (Smilodon) as seen in DMNS exhibit 'La Brea Tar Pit' found in Fossil Mammal Hall and shown during Pleistocene Epoch (2.5 million - 10,000 years ago). Removed 2001-2002 to make way for the Space Odyssey Exhibit which opend in 2003. The mounting was done by mount maker Henry Wichers.
