description:
Museum Cheif Preparateur, Philip Reinheimer, excavating at the Trigonias quarry with dig tools and landscape in background. There are few pictures of Mr. Reinheimer in the field; normally he is pictured in the bone lab articulating large skeletons for exhibit. This excavation site was quite significant and yielded at least three complete Trigonias skeletons as well as at least thirty-seven skulls, fifty-nine pairs of mandibles, eight pelvic girdles, eight trays of vertebrae, several complete sets of ribs, and numerous limb bones. The site yielded remains of a variety of prehistoric rhinoceroses. Duplicate fossils were used in exchange with various institutions across the country including The Field Museum and Harvard University. Location: near Horsetail Creek.
