From the left, Museum director Jesse Dade Figgins and Museum Cheif Preparateur Philip Reinheimer were often in the field collecting for the museum. However, there are few pictures of Mr. Reinheimer in the field. Normally, he is pictured in the lab articulating large dinosaurs for exhibit or working behind the scenes. Here they are pictured working on excavating fossils at the Trigonias quarry. This excavation site was quite significant and yielded at least three complete Trigonias skeletons as well as at least thirty-seven skulls, fifty-nine pairs of mandibles, eight pelvic girdles, eight trays of vertebrae, several complete sets of ribs, and numerous limb bones. The site yielded remains of a variety of prehistoric rhinoceroses. Duplicate fossils were used in exchange with various institutions across the country including The Field Museum and Harvard University. Location: near Horsetail Creek.
