Jawbone found at Horsetail Creek excavation and jawbone of a Trigonias brought to the site for comparison. The excavation site, sometimes referred to as "Trigonias Quarry" was quite significant, yielding the remains of a variety of prehistoric rhinoceroses including at least three complete Trigonias skeletons as well as at least thirty-seven skulls, fifty-nine pairs of mandibles, eight pelvic girdles, eight trays of vertebrae, several complete sets of ribs, and numerous limb bones. Duplicate fossils were used in exchange with various institutions across the country including The Field Museum and Harvard University. Location: near Horsetail Creek.
