Notharctus mandible found in Natrona County, Wyoming. Notharctus lived in the early to middle Eocene in North America (53 to 45 mya). Notharctus was found in a tropical forest habitat and were primarily leaf eaters. These primates were similar to modern day lemurs in their joint configuration and moved about in the trees by leaping, grasping, and running.
