Notharctus jaw fragment found in Natrona County, Wyoming. Notharctus was an early North Americam primate that lived in the early to mid Eocene (53 to 45 million years ago). Notharctus lived in tropical forest habitat and possessed skeletal characteristics that would have allowed them to move about in the trees by leaping, grasping, and running.
