Hyracotherium averaged two feet in length and 8 to 14 inches high at the shoulder. It had a short face with eye sockets in the middle. Hyracotherium is believed to have been a browsing herbivore that ate primarily soft leaves as well as some friuts, nuts, and plant shoots. This jaw fragment was found in Fremont County, Wyoming.
