description:
|
A plastinated human hand in bias sagittal section showing several carpal and metacarpal bones along with one proximal and middle phalanx and arterial blood supply to the hand. This section is only possible if this cut was made with the thumb adducted and rotated to a palmar position. In a typical saggital section (a line from front to back) only one or two carpal bones should be visible at a time. This section may have been chosen specifically because it shows so many carpals at one time.
