Alfred M. Bailey (far right) and field team members posing at Saglek Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. During the summer in 1946 the Museum sponsored an expedition to Labrador, which was financed by a group of eastern business men, and Alfred M. Bailey accompanied the party on board the schooner Bowdoin, with Commander Donald MacMillan, the well known Arctic explorer, in command. Scanning and access made possible by a grant from NEH.
