Alfred M. Bailey and Donald MacMillan at the helm onboard the Bowdoin in the waters off Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. During the summer in 1946 the Museum sponsored an expedition to Labrador, which was financed by a group of eastern business men, and A. M. Bailey accompanied the party on board the schooner Bowdoin, with Commander Donald MacMillan, the well known Arctic explorer, in command. Scanning and access made possible by a grant from NEH.
