Title page of album commemmorating Alaska trip undertaken by the museum in 1918. This is the first museum field trip outside the contiguous United States made possible by Harry C. James who financed nearly half the cost. Forty days were spent in the field, during which time 24 specimens of large mammals were obtained and over 300 miles covered. On this trip is William H. James, son to William James, John A. McGuire, Museum Trustee 1919-1942 who paid his own way, and Albert C. Rogers, Chief Preparator of Mammals for the Denver Museum of Natural HIstory, Mueseum Building Superintendent, and Curator of Mammals from 1938 until his death in 1959. Inscription reads "To My Hunting Companions Harry C. James and William H. James From J.A. McGuire October 1918. Commemorating a Trip to Alaska and Yukon Ter. July 27 - Oct. 4, '18".
