Tohono O'odham (Papago) man, John Pancho, shown here on horseback in full cowboy gear. After graduating from Columbia University in Anthropology, Ruth Underhill studied a group of Native Americans in southern Arizona. Through her scientific research she was able to preserve the original language, poetry and songs of the Tohono O'odham (Papago) people.
