Longirostrine Elephant skull and mandible excavated in Ainsworth,Nebraska (Valentine Formation, Brown County) named Trilophodon phippsi as a part of the field work of Harold J. Cook. Showing the right lateral view. The name is a subjective synonym of Gomphotherium located in the Prehistoric Journey exhibit of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and lived 13 mya. Note calendar in background reading Sept. 1927. Taken from a series of glass plate and nitrate film negatives, c.1900-1940s, taken by DMNH personnel during the course of their work documenting the Museum building, exhibits, field work, etc.
