This is a hand written letter asking for safe passage for a Miamie Indian to deliver a packet fom Fort Wayne to Governor William Henry Harrison in Vincennes, Indiana Territory dated June 26, 1809 from Indian Agent Johnston. At the bottom of the letter is a return safe passage signed by William Henry Harrison on July 9, 1809. William Henry Harrison was the ninth U.S. president (1841).
