description:
Middle (orange helmet) DMNS Volunteer Frank Sanders, Right DMNS Earth Sciences Department Chair Ian Miller watching as Dane's magic tibia, masstodon leg bone EPV.60713 is unearthed. This may be the only excavation where construction workers worked side by side with DMNS volunteers to remove the largest number of fossils in a short amount of time. Bulldozer drives deftly removed tons of top burden while experienced volunteers sifted through the dirt. Some drivers said they could distinguish when the blade hit rock, bone, or wood by the way "it felt".
