description:
|
Snowmastodon Excavation, Ziegler Reservoir, Colorado; Fossil mastodon tusk in situ. Mammoths and Mastodons are related, but differ in size, diet, and range. Mammoths are larger than Mastodons, have much longer tusks, and are primarily found in northern climates, while Mastodons inhabited every continent except Australia and Antarctica. Mastodon tusks were shorter and straighter than those of Mammoths, which are curved and can be as long as the Mammoth was tall.
