description:
|
Snowmastodon Excavation, Ziegler Reservoir, Colorado; Fossil mastadon tusk EPV.60718 in situ. Mammoths and Mastodons were related, but differed in size, diet, and range. Mammoths were larger than Mastodons, had much longer tusks, and were primarily found in northern climates, while Mastodons inhabited every continent except Australia and Antarctica. Mastodon tusks were shorter and straighter than those of Mammoths, which were curved and could be as long as the Mammoth was tall.
