L-R Unknown persons, Steve Holen DMNS Curator of Archaeology, Cody Newton Student and Aide to Ian Miller, Ian Miller DMNS Curator of Paleontology and Chairman of Earth Sciences and Tom Richardson DMNS Volunteer with Bison EPV.60678 in situ with excavation equipment in background. This may be the only excavation where construction workers worked side by side with museum volunteers to remove the largest number of fossils in a short amount of time. Bulldozer drives deftly removed tons of top burden while experienced volunteers sifted through the dirt. Some drivers distinguish when the blade hit rock, bone, or wood by the way "it felt".
