L-R Tom Ager USGS and Paul Carrar USGS at strata wall with excavation equipment and Juvenile mammoth EPV.60676 tent in background. Aspens and ski area in far background. This may be the only excavation where construction workers worked side by side with museum volunteers to remove the largest number of fossils in a short amount of time. Bulldozer drives deftly removed tons of top burden while experienced volunteers sifted through the dirt. Some drivers distinguish when the blade hit rock, bone, or wood by the way "it felt".
