Snowmastodon Excavation, People

DMNS crew consisting of volunteers and staff dig at the site. Note the Dam structure at the left and the two excavators working among the diggers. Also note the deep level that has been reached. After crews have hand shoveled dirt looking for fossils, the excavators remove the soil to a distant location. This may be the only excavation where construction workers worked side by side with museum volunteers to remove the largest number of fossils in a short amount of time.
